@elgastronomo! Fruits of the Staghorn Sumac (
Rhus typhina) are fuzzy tangy little seeds that
taste like sour nerds (the candy) that can be collected, soaked and strained for use in tannin rich teas / infusions or natural dyes. The tree itself is a hardy colourful woody shrub native to right here in Southern Ontario.
