As I've said before: my mom always knows the best books for me, exactly what I love to read: creative, narrative non-fiction - communicating information, like a reporter, but shaped in a way that reads like fiction.
My birthday (today) was no exception: she gave me Blood, Bones & Butter, a lovely rambling memoir about family, a wild childhood and growing up around good food. It reminds me very much of another of my favourite books: A Tuscan Childhood. To the point yet still very entertaining her writing style is easy to read, yet very well developed. I'm very much enjoying this book - I'm a 1/3 in and I only just opened it this morning :)
Thanks mum!

Riding the Backroads
One of the first mild spring days we've had and a good friend took me for a fabulous windy ride down the Niagara Parkway on his motorcycle ! It was refreshing to see the Falls and the vineyards from a new angle!
